PROJECT SUMMARY

Contaminated Materials Site Remediation

Remediation & Reclamation, Environmental Construction, Pipeline Abandonment, Special Project

Resolve Earthworks & Environmental Ltd. was awarded the contract to remediate and remove contaminated materials and demolish over 77 concrete pads with an estimated 21,800 tn of concrete at the old client site. Resolve was able to keep the project operational with minimal days lost due to any inclement weather.

Resolve was awarded the project based on its overall price and proposed work plan, as well as its safety record and proven capabilities on similar projects. The project scope included the following:

  • Coordination with environmental consultant to develop the most cost-effective work plan to complete the remedial and demolition activities.

  • Hydrovac targeted areas to ascertain pipeline depths and locations.

  • Complete pipeline cut & caps and pipeline removals.

  • The construction of 2 Hydrovac cells to mitigate Hydrovac costs, reducing total project costs significantly.

  • Demolish and process over 77 concrete pads (estimated +21,800 tn) of various thicknesses, concrete densities, PSI/compressive strengths and a variety of presence of rebar within.

  • Excavate, stockpile, transport, and dispose ~ tonnes of impacted soils from multiple remedial areas to a Class II landfill. Multiplerounds of excavation and sampling required to remove numerous hot spots of contamination.

  • Aerate soils.

  • Source suitable backfill materials.

  • Import, place, and pack imported clean fill in all excavated areas.

  • Site contouring to match surrounding topography.
