PROJECT SUMMARY

Energy Producer Impacted Materials

Environmental Construction, Remediation & Reclamation, Pipeline Abandonment

Resolve Earthworks & Environmental Ltd. was awarded the contract through an environmental consultant to remediate and remove impacted materials at an Energy Producers site.


Resolve was awarded the project based on its overall price and proposed work plan, as well as its safety record and proven capabilities on similar projects.


The project scope included the following:

  • Coordination with environmental consultant to develop the most cost-effective work plan to complete the remedial activities.

  • Hydrovac targeted areas to ascertain pipeline depth and location.

  • Perform pipeline abandonment.

  • Relocate a power pole and corresponding cable.

  • Rip and strip topsoil, remove and reinstate existing fence, dewater pond, etc.

  • Construct a new site access per county specifications.

  • Construct a bio-remediation cell and a temporary stockpile cell.

  • Test pit on site to delineate extent of impacts and corroborate excavation areas.

  • Excavate impacted materials to either bio-remediation cell for treatment or temporary stockpile cell set for Class I and/or Class II landfill.

  • Perform multiple treatment cycles of impacted materials in bio-remediation cell until material tests clean.

  • Source suitable backfill materials, in addition to; sand to surround the pipeline - per pipeline consultant’s request.

  • Import, place, and pack imported clean fill in excavated areas.

  • Haul, place and pack clean fill from bio-remediation treatment cell.

  • Site contouring to match surrounding topography.

  • Seed area for finished result.
