Resolve Earthworks & Environmental Ltd. was awarded the contract to remove and replace a leaking sump, and remediate surrounding soils located inside a warehouse. The work involved removing the damaged sump, trench drain, and building floor, and reinstating all to original condition following remediation of the underlying soils.

Resolve was awarded the project based on its overall price, as well as its safety record, detailed work plan, and proven capabilities on similar projects. 

The project scope included the following:

• Assist in acquisition of all required permits and development of work plan in conjunction with the environmental consultant and building engineers to safely complete all excavation and infrastructure removal and reinstatement.

• Wash sump and drains, transport and dispose of fluids offsite.

• Saw cut, break and remove concrete floor, trench drains, and sump.

• Construction of lined, bermed impacted soil holding cell.

• Excavation, stockpiling, transport and disposal of impacted soils to a Class II landfill.

• Supply and install new precast concrete sump and construct new custom concrete trench drain to match the previously existing drainage system, including reinstatement of sanitary sewer and vent lines.

• Backfill and compaction of excavated areas with imported clean fill.

• Reinstate new concrete floor and polish to match existing floor.
